a walk along the simple road! :)
Apart from the fact that i couldn’t get a flight and had to sit 30 hours in a bus to get there, the city Skardu, with a suburban simple village kinda life is the perfect example of a pearl in a seashell!
the heavy laden cherry, apple and apricot trees, the blooming wild flowers, the radiant water in the streams and waterfall that were found by every roadside, the cute curly haired rosy cheeked babies, the peoples simple yet enjoyable frivolities and the sunny yet slightly chilly\cloudy weather seemed to be nothing more but an insignia of heaven!
I still remember feeling the lush green grass peeping through my white flip flops and touching my toes, that fresh cold spring water rushing through my throat has taken away all my thirst!
I still recall the frizzy haired, wrinkle scattered, bare footed, ragged clothed village off springs who in spite of these set backs never failed to pass a big teethy grin to a passerby, they still never failed to live each day jumping around taking pleasure in their unpaid jobs!..They still skipped about playing little games that we would find too infra dig to include in our eventful and shallow city agenda!
I was mind blown over the fact that the villagers were so hospitable when I entered the village, the way they did not let poverty get the better of them and still offered me baskets full of freshly picked cherries and apples!

I also summon up the polo match I went to…the way I was the only woman in the whole crowd…yet still the sweet, modest men never once made me feel uncomfortable, but infact welcomed me with inexplicable manners and saccharine smiles!
As I used to drive through the city road I loved the way every person knew another and never hesitated to stop by and talk to each other! To them relations always came before work!
Seeing them through normal busy urban shallow eyes, I see the villagers holding nothing in their hands, no money, no jobs, no cars etc etc…but after sometime I realized how happy they were that way! I realized that they had nothing to hold in their hands but had everything to hold in their hearts…their main means of survival was to love and be loved…such simple means were hard to take in for me…in that village I felt like a rich, spoilt brat who never stopped to think of what she already has…but always stopped to think about what she hasn’t! I felt like a girl whose want for more never ended…a girl who had everything but the time to think over what she had!
I realized that no matter how much we have, no matter how much we are blessed with…it becomes of zero value if we don’t have the good sense to appreciate it!:)
welcome back!=D and nice post!:P
